I am NOT Ashamed!

I respect your opinions, please respect mine.
This is my Soapbox for the day! I’m all about free speech, I’m all about making informed decisions, and I’m all about knowing and respecting yourself and others. For those who are easily offended, please read no further, for these are simply MY thoughts and MY opinions. You don’t have to agree, but I respect your thoughts and opinions and deserve the same respect in return. Please feel free to comment back.
As humans we all get offended about various circumstances throughout our lifetime and day to day situations. We make mental notes, deal with it, and move on because many times we can remove ourselves from the object of offense. In a time where people are so quick to become offended with the word “God” being placed in various settings I say this:
1) If you don’t like “One nation under God” spoken in the pledge of allegiance, then don’t say it or get home schooled. Most schools are already overcrowded.
2) If you are offended by Christian statues and sayings outside various buildings, then don’t look at them or don’t read them. No one is forcing you to.
3) If you don’t like the “In God we trust” inscription on U.S. currency, then don’t use it. Give it to me and I’ll gladly take it as my blessing.
There were a lot of nonbelievers who found God (or some other higher power) very quickly after September 11. And there are also many people who find God (or some other higher power) during a life crisis or when it’s convenient. I may not win many over with this post, but I WILL be true to who I am and what I believe in. We all have a right to believe or not believe in a higher power. But I will say that I am NOT ASHAMED nor will I be silenced in my right to speak on the goodness of my God. For those who don’t believe, I do respect that choice, but since I do believe I am deserving of that same respect of choice!

There have been times when I was hesitant to tell people I would pray for them. Before I was Saved, when people would say that to me I would feel a little “odd”.
But every time I would hesitate I had to remind myself that there is no reason to feel ashamed for believing in HIM or letting people know I love HIM.
I do, out of respect for others, ask if I am not sure in their beliefs if it would be okay to pray for them.
BTW… some of you don’t like “In GOD we trust” on money you don’t have to give yours to Ms Lora, you can also give it to me.

LOL….You know Harp, I always just tell people I’m praying for them without even thinking. I figure if they don’t want me to, then they’ll say something. No one, including nonbelievers, have ever said, “Laura, please don’t pray for me.”

Thank you!!
Glad to see their are Christians out there who are still willing to openly defend our country’s Christian heritage.

Aspen: Of course!!
Defend Christianity and my God! Hoo-rah!
Thanks!
I may not have been a “Saved” all my life, but I’m doing what I can since I’ve learned….and while continuing to learn. But I’ll tell you what, Jesus is a hard act to follow!

Hello Laura! I really admire you for standing up for our GOD…thee GOD =). You are definately blessed. I came across this site as I was googling a few things and I’m glad I did. You seem to have such a good balance in your life and I’m not sure how you do it. I’m a single mother of two, going to school full-time and training for competition and sometimes it gets so hard and I struggle to balance those things in my life. Any words of encouragement would be a blessing. By the way, you have a great physique =).
