Olympia Weekend!

The 2009 Olympia Weekend was simply awesome!  The Expo was crazy hectic and over flowing with people!

YOUR BODY’S PH LEVEL IS VERY IMPORTANT!!

I have been doing research on the body’s ph level for a while.  I believe it is very important and for some it could very well save your life IF you get it under control NOW!!  This topic is not talked about a lot and I don’t know why because it makes total sense!! 

OK, GET this… If you are maintaining a swimming pool, it has to be kept at a certain ph level RIGHT? OR… it will end up lookiNg cloudy or even moldy!!  Same thing with our bodies!!  If our body’s PH level is not balanced and we are always consuming foods that keeps the body in an acidic state, the body has no defense against disease, sickness, weight gain, depression, stress and all the other bad symptoms we go to the doctor for… This could be the answer to our growing health problems!!!  Please read the short article below. After reading, go online and do some research of your own about how to keep the body’s PH level balanced! It is one topic I think more people should know about!!

Life is all about balance. This universal truth is especially profound when speaking of body pH levels. Body pH is the human body’s need to stay at a certain pH level.  Levels of pH are measured on a scale from zero to 14, in which zero is very acidic, 7 is neutral, and 14 is very alkaline. The pH of blood in the human body must remain at a slightly alkaline level of 7.35-7.45. In addition to maintaining blood pH, some of your body’s other fluids are maintained at different pH levels to keep you healthy. To sustain these pH levels throughout your body, your cells and organs are constantly working and filtering what you eat.

Many scientists believe that helping your body balance its pH levels is very important to fighting disease. What can you do to help your body pH remain at healthy levels? Body pH levels and diet appear to be closely linked. In addition, your kidneys are probably the hardest working organs when it comes to body pH balance, so giving your kidneys the minerals they need to maintain body pH, such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium, is a good start.

How Diet Affects Body pH

The various foods and beverages you consume release either alkaline or acidic residues into your body when your body digests them. As these residues are released into your body, your body attempts to filter the residues out and maintain proper body pH balance. So if, for example, you eat a lot of acid producing foods like meat, cheese, and sweets, your kidneys would pull minerals from your body like potassium, magnesium, calcium, and sodium to counteract the acid and keep your body pH in check.

By being careful about food pH and consuming foods that are more in-line with your slightly alkaline body pH, you can ease the strain on your kidneys and lessen the need for your body to surrender important minerals in the name of maintaining body pH. Examples of alkaline-producing foods are fresh vegetables, some fruits, nuts, and legumes.

NPC TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS results!

charla on stageWell, this weekend went well! I am very proud to say that I placed 2nd in the Masters Figure 35 and up class and 3rd in the Open Womans Figure class!!!!  It was my childrens first time to see their Mommy compete!  WOW, were they an awesome Cheering Squad!  As I am on stage doing maditory poses I hear…”GO MOMMY NUMBER 51″.    My face just lite up and I had a huge smile the whole time.  My hubby was there as always to stand by me and support me! AND I had two other peeps come to the show…My FELLOW EFX NATURAL FREAK ATHLETES LAURA BAILEY AND JONATHAN HANLEY!  YOU guys are the best Thank You for being there!  Also, Thank you to everyone out there that cheered me on and followed my training during my prep for this competition! It really does a lot for an athlete to know they have people out there rooting for them ;)

When the show was over I had two tropies…One for my little girl and one for my son!  Boy were they excited!!!  I will always bring them to every competition from now on! They are OFFICIALLY  CC’S CHEERING SQUAD!!  Well, enjoy the pics and have a super week!!

Interview with UCW Radio

Hello!  Hope you all are having a great Labor Day Weekend!! 

I wanted to share the interview I did over the phone on Friday Sept. 4th with UCW Radio in New York.    This interview pretty much answers almost every question I’ve ever been asked.  It was really great to get to talk about everything and really let people know who I am inside and out.  This interview is a rather long one but very thorough!!  I want to Thank Lou Velazquez for having me on as his guest!  He is a really great and FUNNY guy!  I hope after you listen it will inspire and motivate you to reach for that goal in life that you didn’t think was possible!!! BECAUSE IT IS POSSIBLE!

SPORTS i PLAY

HELLO! and Happy Wednesday!

There is this really cool website that All American EFX has joined forces with it is called SPORTS i PLAY www.sportsiplay.com.   On this website, there is all sorts of information about all sports such as: Bodybuilding, soccer, football, track and field, volleyball, cheerleading and many more.  There is also a parents area, coach’s corner, trainers table you can go to and ask your questions about your sport.   Their  focus is to help young athletes stay  focused on being drug free  and to give them more knowledge and support about their sport so they become a better athlete.  I personally think it is an awesome way to help our young athletes  learn that they CAN succeed in all sports with the natural strength, talents, and abilities that they are born with! Being able to achieve goals naturally is so much more of an accomplishment, and being a natural athlete myself and overcoming so many obstacles and weaknesses has really proven to me just how powerful we really are!
