Forming mental images in our head seems to be pretty easy. We do it all the time. How about using images to reach a certain goal? I’ve been using visualization along with my training for quite some time now. For instance, chest is a weaker area that I want to improve upon. I visualize the chest that I want to have - big and full. I also go through pressing movements in my head before I execute them in the gym. In my mind, I have all points of contact on the bench... my chest is up, my grip is in the right place, and I inhale and exhale at the right times. Your mind is probably the most powerful tool in your arsenal. In order for me to accomplish certain goals, I find them easier to achieve when I can "see" them in my “mind’s eye” first. Maybe you can try some visualization before your next workout and see where it takes you.
