Whether the goal is to gain quality mass or to get lean we need to feed our body right after every training session. After a hard training session our glycogen stores become depleted and high levels of cortisol is released in the body. When this occurs, our bodies begin to break down muscle, which is not what we want! As soon as possible we need to consume a post workout meal that consists mostly of fast-acting protein and carbohydrates. And let’s not forget about timing - we have about a 45 minute “window” where our body is most sensitive to insulin, which is the main nutrient-storing hormone. So, if you want to become a natural freak then make sure to get that post workout meal in!
